A Brief Thought on the Iowa Caucus

Romney and Santorum beat out Ron Paul in the Iowa Caucuses. Facebook is all abuzz as people attempt to spin the results. The bottom line is that Iowa was a defeat for liberty. The Ron Paul people will try and salvage some hope from this event, but I simply take from it sobriety. Paul people are the most dedicated without a doubt, but we are simply outnumbered. Paul's numbers stay firm but so do Romney's numbers.

Rick Santorum has become the darling of Christian evangelicals which is why he is doing well now. He almost beat Romney. Going forward, Romney will win New Hampshire and run the table. Santorum will likely be the VP candidate as Mitt tries to placate those Christians who despise his Mormonism. As for Ron Paul, he will get his message out, but it will be 2008 all over again.

I think a lot of libertarians were poised to celebrate a victory in Iowa, but let's face facts. America does not want to be free. They want welfare and warfare. This is not going to change until this country is in absolute ruin. It is not elections but events that change people. And this change is not always for the better.
