TRUE SHIT-Woodrow Wilson the Racist

Like Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson is another president that has been given the hagiographic treatment by public school textbooks and progressives. The reality is that Woodrow Wilson was a son of a bitch and a racist. Unlike Lincoln, Wilson's racism was strident and regressive as he turned back progress in this area during his life.

The first and most notable action Wilson did in his life was to reject blacks from attending Princeton University during Wilson's time as president of that institution. While President of the United States, Wilson saw the segregation of Washington, DC, and segregated the federal government. As Wilson put it to his former black supporters, "Segregation is not a humiliation but a benefit, and ought to be so regarded by you gentlemen."

Woodrow Wilson was also sympathetic to the KKK saying, "The white men were roused by a mere instinct of self-preservation. . .until at last there had sprung into existence a great Ku Klux Klan, a veritable empire of the South, to protect the Southern country." This statement can be found in the great racist epic The Birth of a Nation.

So, why do progressives love Wilson so much? The answer to that is simple. Wilson was an interventionist. He crafted the creation of the League of Nations, the forerunner of today's UN. He was the primary author of what we know today as neoconservatism. He launched the country into war, and he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. This would not be the last time that award would be given to an undeserving man. For these actions, progressives glossed over Wilson's sins and sanitized them from school textbooks. Generations of schoolchildren including black schoolchildren were reared with the idea that Wilson was a great man when he actually considered blacks to be inferiors and thought well of the Ku Klux Klan.
