The Second Test of the Series gets underway on Friday 3rd of June at Lords. The Series finally came alive astonishingly in those 24.4 overs of Srilanka Innings which saw a sensational win for England.
England will go into this Test Match without Jimmy Anderson who sustained an injury in the first innings of the Cardiff test. He is likely to be replaced by Finn in the playing eleven and will be the only change from the first test.
Srilanka however have major selection headaches not caused by injuries but their woeful performance with the ball and also their batting in that second innings. I don’t see any changes to their batting line up in this test but what I do see is at least two changes in their bowling attack. Sri Lanka lacked real fire power and venom in their bowling performance throughout the first test.
England will be looking to Kevin Pietersen and Stuart Broad to find much needed form as they were both really disappointing at Cardiff. Sri Lanka will look to Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene to finally turn up in this series as they both were very disappointing in both innings.
Hopefully the weather be set fair for all five days and should be a sell out or near to it. I believe that this Test Match will be a high scoring affair in the first innings for both teams but England will just about win on the Final day with their bowling unit. It won’t be as easy as Cardiff for England to bowl out Sri Lanka cheaply in the second innings.
