[SOC]

I’m sitting in a room. I have to sit in this room for the next 12 hours and answer a telephone when it rings. This is the only office job I have ever had. I’m not fond of it, but I do it. I’d rather be outside doing real work. But I’m inside. Embrace the suck.

I handle being inside by reading, writing, and watching videos. Of the three, writing is the only one that produces flow. It is creation. It is the only thing that I do where I look at my watch and I’m amazed at how much time has flown by.

I am writing this on Google Documents. I love this service because it auto saves, and I can access it from any machine. I am building up a reserve of material here. Some will get posted on a blog. Other stuff will go into books. I would hate to die and have it left there unread. Ultimately, I am at the mercy of Google’s fate. But I like Google.

I use Google for a lot of shit. There is search which I use a whole lot. Then, there is Google News that I love to go to to get the quick once over to catch up on the latest events. For more in depth stuff, there is my Google Reader which collects feeds from over 1000 sources from blogs to newspapers online. Naturally, I can’t read it all. Then, there is Blogger where I host two blogs. WordPress is more popular, but I started with Blogger which Google acquired. Needless to say, Google is a big part of my online life.

Facebook is also useful. I network with a lot of people there and post links to pictures, articles, and videos I find interesting. I share a ton of stuff. I also post a note on a weekly basis usually dealing with politics.

Twitter is another tool I use. I post here from my cellphone when I think of a clever aphorism. This is almost daily. My Twitter feed is a veritable treasure trove of wit.

I produce a lot of content. I feel like a machine just turning out this shit. And I consume a lot as well. Write write write. Read read read.

The book I am currently reading is The Big Short by Michael Lewis. It is excellent. I will write a review of it, but I am behind on my reviews list.

I can’t think of anything else to write.
