What if performance-enhancers were permitted?

Interesting article by Daniel Engber in Slate, playing a thought experiment: What would happen in professional sports (particularly baseball) if leagues permitted, and stopped testing players for, performance-enhancing drugs?

It is an interesting question whether we should simply accept what medical technology (like other human advances) can offer our sports.

Worth a read.
