Since Alex Smith had been drafted questions surrounded the 49ers pick of him and with an injury a few weeks ago against the Rams it gave the 49ers what I call an excuse to try out a new QB and it worked! Colin Kaepernick finally gets the playing time he has earned other than the few spots they have put him on the field running Wild Cat formations. Kaepernick gives the 49ers a whole new dimension on offense. He has a powerful arm, can move on the run which now defenses must be aware of the 49ers offense. I would be very surprised if Coach Harbaugh goes back to Smith.
So far on the season Kaepernick has completed 48-74 attempts and thrown for 680 yards and 3 td's. And Alex Smith has 152-217 for 1731 yards and 13 TD's so far this season.
