Sonnet 1

Her eyes shine with quickening desire.
My own cold heart beats quickly until
My mind’s relentless unquenchable fire
Is extinguished with her lovely will.
She demands of me a devotion true
And a constant pure unrelenting love.
I simply do not know what I should do
With this creature sent from Heaven above.
I am not worthy of a gift as this.
I break to pieces at her pleasant sight.
It is my highest solemn holy wish
To live in this woman’s undying light.
She is everything in the world to me.
My pledge to her is for eternity.
