Box Breakers: 5 PACKS OF PANINI BLACK FRIDAY 2012

I didn't get my hands onto any of these last year..but I did this year. Was pleasantly surprised with the results. This was a 5 pack break. Let me know your thoughts on this promo.

Should have taken pic before busting..but couldn't help myself
These are going on eBay for $5 each
Love these. Only five made!
Really hope he pans out!

The base cards look great. Everything is so shiny. I hope to break some more next year if not this year again. If I can search down some cheap packs somewhere. These babies are still going for a pretty penny on eBay.

Overall I would rate this break based on cost versus what I got a :

5/5

Here are is thoughts on his case break:
"Being a high-end product, the whole time I was opening it I felt that something big was coming. Unfortunately, it never showed. I have no complaints about the card design. Sharp looking cards, with again, the different color refractors being a highlight of the base cards, as well as the autographs and relics. The biggest design/packaging flaw that I could find was that the hits were the last cards in the pack. This forced me to look away as I was opening the packs to uphold the suspense. (I had to find something wrong, right?)
The boxtoppers were a nice touch. I really liked the Doug Martin jumbo patch that I pulled from a boxtopper. Really nice looking card, especially with the creamsicle orange jersey. The sad thing was that this was probably my best pull from the case.
Overall value on the case was disappointing, to say the least. The best rookie autograph/relic card I pulled was probably a LaMichael James. (I told you it was not good). I did, however, hit a printing plate autograph. That was a nice hit, even though it was Josh Gordon. Another negative was the fact that I pulled three of the same Stephon Gilmore autographed cards out of three consecutive boxes. (You wouldn't see me complaining if it was RGIII)."
Once again thanks to Shane for sharing this and we would like to know what your thoughts are on his break.

Thoughts On The 2012 NFL Regular Season

Now that the NFL regular season has come to an official end we got to see an amazing year of football.

We got to see three rookie quarterbacks lead their team to the playoffs:

Russell Wilson 2012 Score Hot Rookie   2012 Score Rookie Card #304 ANDREW LUCK RC  2012 Score Hot Rookies -- ROBERT GRIFFIN III insert card #2

Some more great rookie performances by these two running backs:

DOUG MARTIN 2012 Topps Finest Football Card #108 Buccaneers  ALFRED MORRIS 2012 Rookies & Stars RC #151

And some great comeback performances and great stories

Peyton Manning 2012 Panini Black Platinum Blue Parallel Card #6/25 Broncos  2007 Topps Chrome ADRIAN PETERSON Blue Refractor Parallel Rookie Rc #181 RARE

And a record breaking season

Calvin Johnson 2007 Topps Chrome Blue Refractor RC

Not to mention some surprise teams making runs to the playoffs in Seattle, Washington, Minnesota, Cincinnati and of course Indy which was the greatest story of them all with their coach Chuck Pagano who came back in the teams final game after starting treatment for leukemia in September. That team rode #Chuckstrong to the playoffs.

But we also get to see some sad times as well. First the bounty gate scandal that not only put a little hurt on the league but also hurt the Saints and their season as well. Lucky for them they resigned their coach to a huge contract so they can make a run next season and this scandal will be passed them hopefully. Also, even though I am a huge Giants fan, no longer seeing Andy Reid on the Eagles sidelines will be a little different next season. Reid was was the longest-tenured coach in the NFL at 14 seasons, going 130-92-1 during the regular season. He led the Eagles to nine playoff appearances, including five NFC title games and one Super Bowl that they lost to the Patriots in.

Players and teams that had magic last season like Tim Tebow sat on the pine watching another big shot quarterback falter to lead his team anywhere. The Giants, hate to even talk about this, starting 6-2 looking to defend their title and leading the division by two games and looking playoff bound falling apart towards the end of the season finishing 3-5 and missing out.

Now as we move onto Wild Card Weekend:

NFL Wild Card Weekend schedule

Saturday
4:30 p.m.: Bengals at Texans (NBC)
8 p.m.: Vikings at Packers (NBC)
Sunday
1 p.m.: Colts at Ravens (CBS)
4:30 p.m.: Seahawks at Redskins (Fox)

It will be interesting to see how this exciting season ends and who will be crowned this years Super Bowl champ. I know I have my favorites to win and some I hope that don't. I am sure you do as well.  I am already looking forward to free agency and the off-season as well especially since the Giants missed out. There will be many changes I am sure with players and coaches. And I will be there watching all of it and waiting til next August when training camps and preseason begins.

Bloggers Note: As for my Wild Card Weekend Picks..I am going Texans, Packers, Ravens and Redskins. But I would rather have the Seahawks win.

REVIEW: Topps Chrome Football 2012

This is the box that we won from Topps. Not only is it one of my personal favorites...I know I seem to use that term a lot..but its really truly used here. Just such a great product and 2012 may be the best ever!!

Hobby Box design
Box Breakdown:
  • 24 Packs Per Box, 4 Cards Per Pack
  • Look for (1) Autograph Card Per Box!
  • Around $105 a Hobby box but watch for that number to go up as the popularity does!

BASE CARDS: What can I say..I love em! Anything with a chrome finish..wow. You would think with my love of chrome I would love cars as well..but to be honest I can't even do an oil change ;) This is something I would put a base set together of. The rookie cards are my most sought after and my favorite. Our box proved to be very rookieful. On average we believe you are supposed to get one rookie per pack. We got over 35 rookies in this box! All of the great ones except Luck and Richardson. It would take a lot of boxes to get a base set. You don't get many base cards, though no duplicates, you still don't get enough with all of the parallels and inserts you get in a box.

INSERTS: Loaded with inserts and tons of refractors to choose from this product has a lot to chase. And with all of them having parallels..you can put together many different variation sets. Fun chase to say the least. And they look real nice!

AUTOGRAPH CARDS:Only one hit per box..and this was it. Though not the best player..gotta play behind Peyton Manning for the next 5 years before even getting a shot..this was a tough low numbered pull # to 25. These usually do well on the market in terms of sales.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: Go get some! From the base cards, to inserts, to refractors and the fact its loaded with rookies. Whether you buy a retail box (one jersey card on average) or a hobby box..value is here. You will always most of the time get a lot more than you spent on the product which is why I believe year in and year out Chrome is so popular. If my rating scale could be fixed..I would give it all 6's

RATINGS:  Bloggers Note: Our ratings are based specifically on the blaster, box or packs we opened and do not express what the overall product could bring. Ratings based on a 1-5. 1 Being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
