My NFL Divisional Round Predictions

What a great weekend of football we got to watch in the Wild Card round. With the Ravens, Packers, Texans and Seahawks moving on to the Divisional Round.

Here are my predictions for the games and some rookie cards to watch out for in them:

Baltimore Ravens @ Denver Broncos

I think the Broncos who are on a roll will squeak this one out. Baltimore looked impressive against Indy and are playing much better than the last match up these two teams played but hey, its Peyton Manning and this year he also has a pretty impressive defense to back him up. Broncos win 28-17

ROOKIE CARDS TO WATCH

1998 TOPPS FINEST PEYTON MANNING ROOKIE CARD NO PROTECTOR PARALLEL   JOE FLACCO DELEWARE BLUE HENS / BALTIMORE RAVENS SAGE ROOKIE CARD

If Peyton gets the win...well his cards could show some life. And if Baltimore has any chance in this game it goes on Joe Flacco's shoulders and if he can do the performance like last week his cards could spike.

Green Bay Packers @ SF 49ers

The 49ers dominated the first game of the season when these two teams met but both of these teams seem to be heading in different directions. Green Bay comes in a little healthier and with an improving defense. The offense is powerful but could use some serious help in the running game. The 49ers seem to be playing better with Kaepernick in at QB but the defense seems to have on and off games. This game comes down to ball control, turnovers and if the 49ers can score points. With this being said, I think the experience of the Packers will outdo the 49ers 31-20.

ROOKIES TO WATCH

2005 Playoff Honors Aaron Rodgers Rookie Card - 382 of 699  Aldon Smith RC 2011 Topps RR Rookie Card #102 49ERS
The Packers with no running game will lean on Rodgers who seems to have gotten back his swagger after some off weeks and if the 49ers expect to win Aldon Smith, their best pass rusher, will have to keep Rodgers in the pocket and on the ground

Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons

The Seahawks are an exciting team to watch and have been on fire. They are playing well on both sides of the ball. Atlanta comes in trying to prove themselves after getting home field in the regular season and trying to show they are just as much a playoff winning team as they are in the regular season. This game is a tough one to pick. I really want to have Seattle win it but I think I have to say Atlanta will find a way to win at home but it will be very close 27-24 Atlanta.

ROOKIES TO WATCH

Russell Wilson RC 2012 Bowman Signatures ROOKIE Seahawks  Michael Turner 2004 04 Bowman Rookie card RC

Russell Wilson will have to be on his A game as he will be going into a very rough environment if Seattle expects to win this one on the road and road winning wasn't a thing for them in the regular season and if Atlanta is smart playing a team that can put up points in a hurry as Washington found out they should stick the burner to the Turner and let him run the ball and keep Seattle on the sidelines.

Houston Texans @ New England Patriots

As you all know I am not a big Patriots fan lol. But I really can't see them losing this one. Their defense continues to improve with a bunch of young talent and the pickup of Talib has really helped their secondary. They are much better on defense this year than last and last year they went to the Super Bowl. On offense they can score whenever they feel like it. Tom Brady can sling the ball around and now they even have a running game. Its scary for their opponents.

Houston looked like the best team in football early on going 11-1 then faltered down the stretch. They barely squeaked by Cincy last week after failing to get into the end zone on multiple occasions.

New England knows Brady's time is coming to the end soon. With this game at home, Patriots playing well and Houston stumbling...New England wins and sends a message 34-17.

ROOKIES TO WATCH

2000 Bowman Chrome RC rookie Tom Brady New England Patriots  2003 Topps Andre Johnson RC #380 HOUSTON TEXANS PRO BOWLER AFC SOUTH CHAMPS

If Tom Brady gets time and avoids JJ Watt this will be a long game for Houston and their Defense. Houston's key other than a running game is getting Andre Johnson more involved in this game if they have any chance at all.

What do you think about my predictions? Would you have chosen differently?

Sport Card Collectors Week 4 NFL Picks

Well, here they are..week four. I don't know about the rest of you, but its been a weekly struggle with getting picks right. Last week had a horrible week going 6-10. Hopefully this week will be much improved!

THURSDAY NIGHT

Browns @ Ravens:  Plain and simple...the Ravens are the better team and will win but this game will be closer than most think..Ravens 28-16

SUNDAY

Carolina @ Atlanta: Been wanting to pick this game as an upset but Hotlanta is playing so well and Cam looked lost last Thursday against the Giants...Falcons 28-17

New England @ Buffalo: I want to pick Buffalo..but the last two weeks have been heartbreakers for the Pats. And I can't at all see them starting out their season 1-3. For some reason I think this may turn into a possible blowout by the Pats...35-21

Minnesota @ Detroit: The Lions come in after a high scoring affair with the Titans. We know they can score points, but can they stop anyone. Adrian Peterson seems to like to show up when the Lions are around and this team was impressive against the 49ers...but I still think the Lions are a better team...Lions 31-14

San Diego @ Kansas City: Phillip Rivers and the Chargers did not show up last week against Atlanta. Kansas City pulled out a road comeback against the Saints. I wanna say San Diego..but I am going with the upset here...Kansas City 27-24

Seattle @ St.Louis: Another start for rookie Wilson of the Seahawks but this time on the road in St. Louis where another top pick lost already there this year. St. Louis has been a tough out for some teams such as Detroit and Chicago..I am thinking Rams here...St.Louis 24-17

San Fran @ NYJ: The 49ers stay on the road after a dismal performance against the Vikings but they are facing a team with some injuries and a lack of offense. I think the 49ers get it done on the road and the Jets should start thinking about more Tebow Time...49ers 27-10

Tennessee @ Houston: The Titans come in after a great week by QB Jake Locker but still another bad game for CJ2K. Where did he go??? The Texans are the best team in the NFL..thats right...I said it and should be able to beat a one sided offense in Tennessee.. Houston 30-13

Miami @ Arizona: Miami should be 2-1 going into this game against 3-0 Arizona but a missed FG cost them a game against the Jets. Tannehill is getting better with each start but so isn't Kolb..Arizona heading to 4-0 with a 20-13 win.

Cincy @ Jacksonville: The Jags showed heart and Gabbert made a nice throw in their comeback against the Colts but the Bengals are looking good on offense as they are firing on all cylinders. The Jags might keep is close if MJD can have another big game but I think Cincy wins on the road...Bengals 21-10

Oakland @ Denver: Peyton still searching for win number two for the Broncos while the Raiders go to Denver a place they have success in on a huge high beating the Steelers. I think Denver is underachieving. This is almost a must win for them and I think they will get it barely...Broncos 27-24

New Orleans @ Green Bay: This matchup is much different than the last. Green Bay is impressive. New Orleans is not. After 3 straight disappointing defeats and now a team that is much better than them..I expect a Packer win 35-17

Washington @ Tampa Bay: RG3 continues to impress, especially me, but Washington now has lost two straight like Tampa Bay who looked much better against Dallas than they did in NY. Tampa's got a tough coach and a good D. Washington has big time injuries on defense and it showed last week. I expect this to come down to the fourth quarter and a late TD gives Tampa Bay a boost with a 21-17 win.

SUNDAY NIGHT

NY Giants @ Philadelphia: We see what the Giants can do when turnovers come their way and thats what Philly does best..turn the ball over. This is a NFC beast of a matchup and will be close throughout. If Philly can cut down on the turnovers and block the Giants from getting to Vick they will win. For some reason, after seeing that team not improve on those parts for the last three weeks I expect the Giants to squeak out a big road division win..Giants 23-17

MONDAY NIGHT

Chicago @ Dallas: The Cowboys stay home after a not impressive win over the Bucs last week. Chicago has looked good at times and bad at others. I think both are equal in talent but will give the home team the slight advantage...Cowboys 24-21

Sport Card Collectors Week 3 NFL Picks

Thursday Night:

NYG @ Carolina: Hate to be down on my team..but this is not the same Giants defense and they are completely depleted with injuries...gonna have to go with a hot Carolina running game here: Carolina 34-24

SUNDAY
Tampa Bay @ Dallas: Dallas will not disappoint Mr. Jones again after a rough game on the road. And the way Tampa blew last weeks game with a shaky secondary: Dallas 23-14

Buffalo @ Cleveland: Buffalo is coming off a huge win at home and CJ Spiller is on fire. Cleveland played Cincy tough but...Buffalo 27-17

NYJ @ Miami: NYJ's offense wasn't existent last week and Miami ran the ball down Oaklands throats..Rex Ryan won't allow a rookie qb to beat them or it could be Tebow Time...NYJ 20-13

Kansas City @ New Orleans New Orleans 0-2 for the first time in awhile and they get what they want a team they can possibly beat up on at home. Kansas City is struggling on both sides of the ball..New Orleans wins 27-10

Cincinnatti @ Washington: RG3 has been very impressive so far this season and Cincy has played two close games in which they won and lost. It will be close but I will ride the Redskins at home: Washington 27-20

St Louis @ Chicago: Looks like an easy pick but St. Louis has played tough in both of their games. Jay Cutler is coming off a rough game so look for him to straighten things out in a Bears win at home...Chicago 31-17

San Fran @ Minnesota: Minnesota lost a tough one to Indy and San Fran is among the Elite teams...San Fran wins easily 31-10

Detroit @ Tennessee: Detroit has not looked overly impressive in their first two games..but they are on the road in Tennessee playing a team that looks good at times and struggles at others. Will CJ2k ever make noise again?  Detroit should win but the Titans will keep it close: Detroit 31-17

Atlanta @ San Diego: Two teams on the rise but only one can win and I am going with the home team...San Diego 24-17

Philadelphia @ Arizona: Philly has won two close ones, Arizona has won two close ones...but Philly has the much better team in they can cut down on the turnovers...Philly wins 22-19

Pittsburgh @ Oakland: Pittsburgh dominated NYJ and the Raiders have lacked a defense this year. Watch for Jonathan Dwyer to have a break out game...Pittsburgh should win 27-10

Houston @ Denver: Peytons third game with the Broncos and a home game at that..but Houston is a tough one and probably top of the class in the AFC...Houston will squeak out of Denver 20-17

SUNDAY NIGHT:
New England @ Baltimore: Both teams come in off heart breaking losses last week and both are looking to rebound on Sunday night. However, New England seems to always have Baltimores number one way or another and rarely loses two games in a row...New England wins 28-21

MONDAY NIGHT
Green Bay @ Seattle: This game is on Monday Night...seems like an odd matchup that should favor the Packers. Seattle did beat Dallas..but Dallas is  not Green Bay: Packers win 31-13
