Who will win Super Bowl XLVII Ravens-49ers

Sprinter's speed makes San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick truly dangerous. Baltimore's Joe Flacco is a classic drop-back passer.

Ravens Anquan Boldin has been playing great this postseason and his teammate Torrey Smith will play as a deep threat, that can mean trouble for the 49ers.

Raven's Lewis has 44 tackles in the past three playoff wins and he has been great in the Raven's defense. The Raven's have a pretty good front seven that can dominate the game.

San Francisco 49ers will need to run with Kaepernick's speed, he can dominate the game. San Francisco has the most talented defense in the NFL.

Expert Pick:

Super Bowl XLVII, Ravens, 49ers, Colin Kaepernick, Anquan Boldin, Ray Lewis, NFL, San Francisco, Baltimore

My NFL Divisional Round Predictions

What a great weekend of football we got to watch in the Wild Card round. With the Ravens, Packers, Texans and Seahawks moving on to the Divisional Round.

Here are my predictions for the games and some rookie cards to watch out for in them:

Baltimore Ravens @ Denver Broncos

I think the Broncos who are on a roll will squeak this one out. Baltimore looked impressive against Indy and are playing much better than the last match up these two teams played but hey, its Peyton Manning and this year he also has a pretty impressive defense to back him up. Broncos win 28-17

ROOKIE CARDS TO WATCH

1998 TOPPS FINEST PEYTON MANNING ROOKIE CARD NO PROTECTOR PARALLEL   JOE FLACCO DELEWARE BLUE HENS / BALTIMORE RAVENS SAGE ROOKIE CARD

If Peyton gets the win...well his cards could show some life. And if Baltimore has any chance in this game it goes on Joe Flacco's shoulders and if he can do the performance like last week his cards could spike.

Green Bay Packers @ SF 49ers

The 49ers dominated the first game of the season when these two teams met but both of these teams seem to be heading in different directions. Green Bay comes in a little healthier and with an improving defense. The offense is powerful but could use some serious help in the running game. The 49ers seem to be playing better with Kaepernick in at QB but the defense seems to have on and off games. This game comes down to ball control, turnovers and if the 49ers can score points. With this being said, I think the experience of the Packers will outdo the 49ers 31-20.

ROOKIES TO WATCH

2005 Playoff Honors Aaron Rodgers Rookie Card - 382 of 699  Aldon Smith RC 2011 Topps RR Rookie Card #102 49ERS
The Packers with no running game will lean on Rodgers who seems to have gotten back his swagger after some off weeks and if the 49ers expect to win Aldon Smith, their best pass rusher, will have to keep Rodgers in the pocket and on the ground

Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons

The Seahawks are an exciting team to watch and have been on fire. They are playing well on both sides of the ball. Atlanta comes in trying to prove themselves after getting home field in the regular season and trying to show they are just as much a playoff winning team as they are in the regular season. This game is a tough one to pick. I really want to have Seattle win it but I think I have to say Atlanta will find a way to win at home but it will be very close 27-24 Atlanta.

ROOKIES TO WATCH

Russell Wilson RC 2012 Bowman Signatures ROOKIE Seahawks  Michael Turner 2004 04 Bowman Rookie card RC

Russell Wilson will have to be on his A game as he will be going into a very rough environment if Seattle expects to win this one on the road and road winning wasn't a thing for them in the regular season and if Atlanta is smart playing a team that can put up points in a hurry as Washington found out they should stick the burner to the Turner and let him run the ball and keep Seattle on the sidelines.

Houston Texans @ New England Patriots

As you all know I am not a big Patriots fan lol. But I really can't see them losing this one. Their defense continues to improve with a bunch of young talent and the pickup of Talib has really helped their secondary. They are much better on defense this year than last and last year they went to the Super Bowl. On offense they can score whenever they feel like it. Tom Brady can sling the ball around and now they even have a running game. Its scary for their opponents.

Houston looked like the best team in football early on going 11-1 then faltered down the stretch. They barely squeaked by Cincy last week after failing to get into the end zone on multiple occasions.

New England knows Brady's time is coming to the end soon. With this game at home, Patriots playing well and Houston stumbling...New England wins and sends a message 34-17.

ROOKIES TO WATCH

2000 Bowman Chrome RC rookie Tom Brady New England Patriots  2003 Topps Andre Johnson RC #380 HOUSTON TEXANS PRO BOWLER AFC SOUTH CHAMPS

If Tom Brady gets time and avoids JJ Watt this will be a long game for Houston and their Defense. Houston's key other than a running game is getting Andre Johnson more involved in this game if they have any chance at all.

What do you think about my predictions? Would you have chosen differently?

Thoughts On The 2012 NFL Regular Season

Now that the NFL regular season has come to an official end we got to see an amazing year of football.

We got to see three rookie quarterbacks lead their team to the playoffs:

Russell Wilson 2012 Score Hot Rookie   2012 Score Rookie Card #304 ANDREW LUCK RC  2012 Score Hot Rookies -- ROBERT GRIFFIN III insert card #2

Some more great rookie performances by these two running backs:

DOUG MARTIN 2012 Topps Finest Football Card #108 Buccaneers  ALFRED MORRIS 2012 Rookies & Stars RC #151

And some great comeback performances and great stories

Peyton Manning 2012 Panini Black Platinum Blue Parallel Card #6/25 Broncos  2007 Topps Chrome ADRIAN PETERSON Blue Refractor Parallel Rookie Rc #181 RARE

And a record breaking season

Calvin Johnson 2007 Topps Chrome Blue Refractor RC

Not to mention some surprise teams making runs to the playoffs in Seattle, Washington, Minnesota, Cincinnati and of course Indy which was the greatest story of them all with their coach Chuck Pagano who came back in the teams final game after starting treatment for leukemia in September. That team rode #Chuckstrong to the playoffs.

But we also get to see some sad times as well. First the bounty gate scandal that not only put a little hurt on the league but also hurt the Saints and their season as well. Lucky for them they resigned their coach to a huge contract so they can make a run next season and this scandal will be passed them hopefully. Also, even though I am a huge Giants fan, no longer seeing Andy Reid on the Eagles sidelines will be a little different next season. Reid was was the longest-tenured coach in the NFL at 14 seasons, going 130-92-1 during the regular season. He led the Eagles to nine playoff appearances, including five NFC title games and one Super Bowl that they lost to the Patriots in.

Players and teams that had magic last season like Tim Tebow sat on the pine watching another big shot quarterback falter to lead his team anywhere. The Giants, hate to even talk about this, starting 6-2 looking to defend their title and leading the division by two games and looking playoff bound falling apart towards the end of the season finishing 3-5 and missing out.

Now as we move onto Wild Card Weekend:

NFL Wild Card Weekend schedule

Saturday
4:30 p.m.: Bengals at Texans (NBC)
8 p.m.: Vikings at Packers (NBC)
Sunday
1 p.m.: Colts at Ravens (CBS)
4:30 p.m.: Seahawks at Redskins (Fox)

It will be interesting to see how this exciting season ends and who will be crowned this years Super Bowl champ. I know I have my favorites to win and some I hope that don't. I am sure you do as well.  I am already looking forward to free agency and the off-season as well especially since the Giants missed out. There will be many changes I am sure with players and coaches. And I will be there watching all of it and waiting til next August when training camps and preseason begins.

Bloggers Note: As for my Wild Card Weekend Picks..I am going Texans, Packers, Ravens and Redskins. But I would rather have the Seahawks win.

Packers vs Rams 30-20

Cobb scored two second-half touchdowns to help Green Bay Packers win against St. Louis Rams 30-20.

Cobb turned Rams rookie cornerback Janoris Jenkins around on a 5-yard touchdown reception with 8:04 remaining in the third quarter to make it 17-6, then flashed his pure speed on the game-clinching play with 3:06 left in the game.

On the Packers' third down play at the St. Louis 39 with the Rams' crowd in a frenzy, Cobb zipped by cornerback Trumaine Johnson down the right hashmark and hauled in Aaron Rodgers' third scoring strike of the day.

Brett Favre returns to football as high school offensive coordinator

Brett Favre

Brett Favre is expected to sign a contract as a high school offensive coordinator.

Favre is expected to be named the new offensive coordinator at Hattiesburg Miss. Oak Grove High within days. The move could become official as early as Monday night.

While Oak Grove head football coach Nevil Barr told WDAM that no official decision had been made, Favre's longtime agent, Bus Cook, told the Sun-Herald that Favre was definitely taking a position at the school to "give him something to do."

Barr and Favre are reportedly close friends, and the coach has expressed a great deal of flexibility in potential roles for the legendary quarterback as a way to get him involved in the program.

TOM BRADY SO SO SO CLOSE

Tom Brady came so so so close. I actually yelled
TOUCHDOWN, thinking it was caught, but alas
the New York Giants, battered away the last second
pass.

So the New York Giants win the superbowl over the
New England Patriots 21-17.

Awesome game, very close indeed, and now does Eli
Manning get talked about the same way that Peyton Manning
and Tom Brady does?

I say yes.

I just gotta feel for Tom Brady, it came so close to be
caught, and history, I guess History is made up of
inches.

Great game, this is why the SuperBowl is the second
most watched sports event on the face of the planet
behind the Football world cup.

Roll on Next season.

Super Bowl Prediction

This Super bowl will have the biggest worldwide
TV ratings, apart from Football world cup in
history.

Giants Versus Patriots.

Has to be the Pats, Tom Brady is just too good.

The man who always celebrates by listening to
Garth Brooks's Friends in Low Places, will have
friends all over world, come the end of the game.

I really think he is going to own this super bowl
like no quaterback has before.

Pats by 12+.

Will I be right in my prediction?

Time will tell.

Brady throws record 6 TDs defeat Broncos

New England advanced to next weekend’s AFC championship game at home against the winner of Sunday’s game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens game with a 45-10 thrashing of Denver. The Patriots, as they have been wont to do over the years, played at a relentless pace for much of the game as Brady finished with an NFL playoff-record-tying six touchdown passes and a team record for passing yards (363) in a playoff game.

The Patriots’ defense is just too much for the Bronco's. Tebow completed just nine of 26 passes for 136 yards and no touchdowns and rushed for only 13 yards on five carries. With New England up 42-7, the fans began chanting, “Teeee-bow . . . Teee-bow.” On the next play, he was sacked for an 11-yard loss — one of five sacks for New England’s 31st-ranked defense.

NFL having it's best season

While the NBA is off to a shaky start,
the NFL is powering ahead with it's
playoffs, Tim Tebow mania is in full
swing, the Packer fans are going
crazy, and this is the most exciting
season for decades.

Who's going to win? Well you cant really tell,
no one knows, that is the beauty of the NFL,
most other sports, you know who's going to
win, but the thing with the NFL you don't,
you have no idea, heck even the Cardinals
made the NFL a few years back.

So on and onwards, with this season.

The playoffs are here, and the world is watching,
thank you America for providing the planet with
great theater.

Cardiac Cardinals Lose Again

What is wrong with this team, havent they learned
anything fro the mid-late 90's, how can you keep
losing close matches, with different coaching staff,
with different players, there have been so many seasons
when the cards could of gone 10-6, but instead have gone
4-12, well they now sit at a pathetic 1-3, with no playoffs
in site.

How the heck do you blow a ten point lead with possession
and only a few minutes left on the clock?

GRRRR, The Tall Blacks lose to Aussie, The Blackcaps
dont win, The warriors lost the grand final, there might
be an NBA Lock out, what other sports can I follow?

Cardinals Lose Again Somehow

I mean, seriously? You can't beat the
freakin seahawks? Your suppose to
be a play off contender, yet you get
beaten by a team that will never be
a contender.

What the heck is wrong with this franchise,
do they just go with the motions, then there
is way the Cardinals should of lost this game
and now they are 1-2 on the season.

Forget about the playoffs, this team wont
finish 500. Heck if there is an NBA lockout,
what am I going to do with my sports following?

Follow the Blackcaps????!!!
